A graduation and award ceremony held for those who presented the best startup business idea contestants.

Mercy Corps Ethiopia, CARE Ethiopia, Samara University and the Regional Employment and Skills Office jointly organized Startup Business Idea Competition has concluded with graduation and award ceremony after 10 days training and contest.

The main objective of the “Bright Business Idea Competition” is to enable local people to solve local problems, and it focuses on three models: training, awarding, and empowering.

70 Competitors who submitted their business ideas that met the competition criteria were trained for ten days, and the 30 ideas with the best results has awarded.

Those who Completed the competition 1-5 awarded 350,000 ETB each, to those who finished 6-15 awarded 250,000 ETB each and to those who finished 16-30 awarded 150,000 ETB each .

The graduation and award ceremony was held in the presence of senior leaders and coordinator of the Federal Ministry of Labor and Skills, the Afar Region Labor and Skills Office, EDI, Care Ethiopia, Mercy Corps, Samara University, Investment Commission, the Regional Health Bureau, Youth Bureau, Finance and Economic Development Bureau, Economic Cluster Coordinator of Afar in the rank of Deputy Head of Government, Afar Development Association, Women’s Affairs and other partner organizations.
